Roadtrip
This blog is my small workspace to document important moments and rambling I had saved up that I could not conform to post on social media.
Since I was a senior in high school, I’ve always wanted to road trip from the east coast to the West. One of my friends gave me the idea when he spoke about a post-grad trip. I had never thought about traveling before then.
After graduating College, I impulsively hopped into my friend’s car and traveled from Baltimore, Maryland, to Los Angeles, California. The road trip symbolized a lot of things, much like a right of passage. Nothing was left for me back in Maryland or New Jersey. I was ready for a new chapter in my life.
I am thankful that Grace (my best friend and road-trip buddy) was as food motivated as I was because our trip exclusively followed the route of a few Diner Drive-ins and Dives.
The road trip started on a rainy day. Maybe a Friday? The mood was somber as we were embracing our friends and roommates. The car was packed to the brim. I was running out of our house to ensure everything was packed or given away. But we were driving away by the afternoon, waving goodbyes.
